Summary of Job Duties:

The Division of Student Affairs is seeking an Assessment & Data Specialist to join a shared services team, Assessment & Strategic Analytics. This position supports the Director of Analysis & Reporting with advanced statistical analyses, data visualization, reporting, divisional program evaluation, assessment, and data acquisition. These efforts will contribute to data-driven decisions for the Division of Student Affairs as they relate to understanding the utilization and satisfaction of services, the impact on student success, and divisional strategic planning.

Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.


Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in statistics, survey methodology, data science, education research, or a related field that has a statistical requirement for degree completion from an accredited institution of higher education

  • At least two years of experience with data visualization tools (i.e., Power BI, Fabric, Excel)

  • At least two years of experience with creating data reports, data mining and forecasting

  • At least two years of experience conducting statistical analyses (e.g., analysis of variance, mixed effects modeling) with large relational databases

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in a related field from an accredited institution of higher education

  • At least two years of experience in data visualization and statistical analyses that support assessment efforts in a higher education setting

  • Demonstrated proficiency in developing internal documentation of processes (e.g., standard operation procedures manuals) and the utilization of a project management tool within a team

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Strong technical writing, communication, and presentation skills

  • Ability to ensure data accuracy, integrity, and validity in all analyses and reporting outputs

  • Ability to analyze and visualize large relational database sets among various data sources

  • Ability to manage large relational data sets through Power BI, R, and/or other programs

  • Ability to work independently, initiate projects, clearly communicate the results of statistical analysis, and seek outside data

  • Ability to identify trends across multiple data sources and translate data findings into actionable insights

  • Ability to build and maintain data structures, including data warehouses and schemas, to support reporting and analytics needs

  • Ability to collaborate closely with the Director of Analysis & Reporting to advance divisional assessment and analytics initiatives
