Summary of Job Duties:

The William Dillard Department of Accounting Program Coordinator works closely with the Department Chair to plan, coordinate, and execute departmental programs, events, and strategic initiatives that enhance the department’s impact, visibility, and internal effectiveness. This role supports both day-to-day operations and department initiatives, including faculty meetings and events, external advisory board and employer engagement, and graduate program activities.

Under the guidance of the Department Chair, the Program Coordinator collaborates with faculty directors and initiative leads to ensure alignment, communication, and successful execution of departmental priorities. The role serves as a key connector among faculty, staff, students, alumni, and external stakeholders, helping elevate the department’s overall presence and performance. The position may supervise staff or student workers as needed.

Key Responsibilities include plan, coordinate, and execute departmental events, meetings, and programs, including faculty events and advisory board activities; assist with graduate program operations and related engagement activities; coordinate logistics, timelines, communications, and follow-up for departmental initiatives and programs; support strategic initiatives led by the Department Chair and faculty directors; serve as a liaison between faculty, staff, students, alumni, and external partners; develop and maintain clear, professional communications for internal and external audiences; track progress, documentation, and outcomes related to departmental initiatives; lead LinkedIn and other social media initiatives; and, identify opportunities to improve departmental processes, engagement, and operational effectiveness.

Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to establish and maintain collegial, professional, and productive working relationships.


Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from accredited institution of higher education

  • At least three years of experience in a marketing, sales, or related environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business from an AACSB accredited institution or a related field

  • Industry experience in the NWA business community or the U of A

  • Work experience in marketing, event management, and/or communication

  • Experience supervising or leading teams and projects

  • Proficient or comfort with learning various online platforms such as CRM software (e.g., Hubspot) and social media platforms (e.g., LinkedIn, Instagram)

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):

  • Strong attention to detail and follow-through

  • Ability to take initiative and manage multiple priorities independently

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills

  • Intermediate to advanced level skills Microsoft Office Suite

  • Strong organizational skills

  • Effective problem-solving skills
