Summary of Job Duties:

The University Recreation Marketing Graduate Assistant supports the Marketing team in executing marketing strategies, programming, and membership initiatives, including retention and recruitment. Key responsibilities involve data collection and analysis to track social media and outreach performance, with findings presented weekly to drive informed marketing decisions. The graduate assistant also plans promotional events, coordinates marketing and media production, manages social media and website content, and oversees student photographers to ensure high-quality event coverage. Additional duties include budget management, purchasing, maintaining records, distributing marketing materials, and fostering student engagement and wellness.

Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.


Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution of higher education

  • Admission to a graduate degree program prior to employment is required

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Marketing/Business/Communications/Journalism or related field from an accredited institution of higher education

  • Experience with Microsoft Excel

  • Experience with social media (Instagram)

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities (KSAs):

  • Candidate must have excellent written and verbal communication, customer service, and supervisory skills

  • Strong interpersonal skills

  • Ability to utilize Microsoft Excel for data collection and analysis to generate actionable insights

  • Ability to create presentations to share data insights at weekly meetings

  • Ability to Brainstorm creative ideas for social media content

  • Ability to supervise a team of photographers to ensure comprehensive event coverage and maintain high standards of photo quality

  • Ability to craft engaging weekly emails for the marketing team, providing updates on events, reminders, and procedural information

  • Ability to host outreach tabling on campus to engage students and promote our facilities and programming

  • Ability to advertise UREC programming by submitting flyers and digital board advertisements across campus

  • Ability to promote shared vision of empowering students for success through recreation and wellness

  • Proven ability to manage projects from inception to completion

  • Ability to engage with diverse groups of students, staff, and community members

  • Ability to create engaging presentations and emails
