Minimum Qualifications:
Business terminal degree (PhD or DBA) from an AACSB-accredited (or equivalent) college of business, conferred by the time the candidate begins the position
Experience teaching at the university level
Qualifications enabling them to be classified as a Scholarly Academic or Practice Academic under AACSB standards – this could include recent Ph.D. attainment, publications and/or sustained professional engagement through outreach, consulting, or other industry-facing activities
Preferred Qualifications:
Ph.D. from an institution with an R1 Carnegie Classification, conferred by the time the candidate begins the position
Evidence of high-quality undergraduate teaching in a business school
Relevant industry work experience
Active involvement in scholarly research and academic conference paper presentations

The Sam M. Walton College of Business leverages strong industry partnerships to offer students rich, career-focused learning experiences across disciplines. The department has a robust portfolio of academic programs, including a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, a Master of Science in Marketing, and a Ph.D. in Marketing. The department supports the Walton College undergraduate strategic retail and professional sales programs. These programs are further supported by deep collaboration with leading companies in the region to enhance hands-on learning and reinforce the college’s commitment to developing students’ critical thinking, communication, and problem-solving skills.

As of Fall 2025, the department includes 25 full-time faculty members and 5–6 doctoral students in residence. Our full-time faculty have earned teaching awards, and our tenure-track faculty are also active research scholars, publishing in top tier marketing journals.
