Summary of Job Duties:

The Student Technology Center (STC) Manager plays a crucial role in enhancing the technological experience on campus, supporting academic technologies, and fostering a technologically enriched environment that enables student and campus success. As a hands-on supervisor responsible for the leadership and operations of the Student Technology Center, the manager’s duties include: Operations management, Development leadership, and Laptop Lending.

Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.


Qualifications:

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related

  • At least three years of supervisory experience

  • Experience with inventory management and reporting

  • Experience with successful project management capabilities

  • At least two years of strong customer service skills

Applicable equivalencies may be accepted on the above qualifications.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proven experience with addressing challenges, with a solutions-oriented approach

  • At least five years of experience in computer support

  • At least two years of experience in computer facility management and troubleshooting

  • Experience working with and mentoring students

  • Experience with documenting services and procedures

  • Experience with providing customer service

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):

  • Knowledge of current computer hardware, software, and emerging technologies

  • Strong customer service skills

  • Strong interpersonal skills

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills

  • Skill in establishing and maintaining standards, policies and operational effectiveness of technology help center operations. Show care and thoroughness in adhering to process and procedure that assure quality

  • Ability to present and exchange technical information with other technicians

  • Ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with faculty, staff, students, and the public

  • Ability to communicate effectively with individuals at all levels of the college

  • Ability to work in a team environment with a collaborative approach to decision making
