Summary of Job Duties:

Senior Research Technologies Liaison is responsible for facilitating, planning, directing, and providing technical leadership for research technology solutions. This includes development of pathway to local, state, regional and national resources to drive delivery of solutions for the University of Arkansas Fayetteville research community and advancement of research. These efforts will span data workflows, data transfers, storage systems, outreach to the research community, and training.
Where applicable, the Senior Research Technologies Liaison will ensure continuity and reliability of the research technologies including reporting on performance, availability, and capacity. This includes working closely with service owners and vendors.
In partnership with numerous groups, the Senior Research Technologies Liaison collaborates and fosters the use of technology to empower research across all colleges, schools and units. This will require building deep relationships and working in close coordination with researchers, research administrators, and information technology colleagues.
This position is responsible for representing the Research Technology Services on various committees and working groups, and advocates for an excellent research technology experience.

Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.


Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution of higher education in business, technology, or quantitative / qualitative field of science

  • At least 5 years of experience working in a higher education research environment


Preferred Qualifications:

  • At least 10 years of experience working in a higher education research environment

  • Experience with multiple Campus Research Computing Consortium (CaRCC):

    • Researcher-facing

    • Data-facing

    • Software-facing

    • Systems-facing

    • Strategy & Policy-facing

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Experience managing complex information technology projects
