Summary of Job Duties:

The School of Art in the Fulbright College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Arkansas is seeking a Sr. Graphic Designer under the direction of the Chief of Staff and Director of Communications.

Thanks to the transformational gifts from the Walton Charitable Support Foundation and Windgate Charitable Foundation the School of Art is growing exponentially. The growth contributes to a fast-paced environment, and we are searching for a candidate who works well with this pace and has the flexibility and agility to move from one project to the next.

The Graphic Designer is an integral part of the School of Art communications team collaboratively working to deliver marketing, creative services, web administration, and visual content designed to propel art education and research. This position will be responsible for multimedia content creation, production, and distribution to a wide range of audiences, including students, faculty staff, alumni, donors, local and regional communities, and artists, designers, and art scholars worldwide. This position requires elements of creative leadership, project management, and technical expertise to ensure content aligns with branding, objectives, and targeted audiences.

In this role, the designer will use innovation, imagination, originality, and skills to take projects from concept to delivery. They will develop print and digital materials including banners, ads, publications, digital content, web design, and social media content. In collaboration with Assistant Director Communications, they will manage and execute website and social media platforms. Participate in project assessment and meetings, present to key stakeholders, manage School of Art graphic design interns, and all other duties as assigned.

Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.


Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelors in graphic design, art, or related field

  • At least two years of professional experience working in graphic design, art, marketing, or related field


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Expert level experience in Adobe Creative Suite and strong working level capabilities with MS Office Suite.

  • Experience working with video, 3D animation, and interactive graphics

  • Experience working in higher education


Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Knowledge of human-centered design methodology and/or design thinking principals

  • Knowledge of HTML/CSS, WordPress, or other Content Management Systems

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to clearly communicate project goals

  • Ability to create and maintain project management system

  • Ability to be a self-starter, pay strict attention to detail, and multitask across multiple projects in a fast-paced, team-based environment

  • Ability to deliver complex projects while meeting deadlines


Additional Information:

This position is renewable annually based on continued need for the position, availability of funding, and satisfactory job performance.


Salary Information:

$56,123 - $63,138
