Summary of Job Duties:

The Speech and Hearing Clinic Office Manager is responsible for providing regular support duties in the Clinic including medical billing, scheduling, referral management, and coordinating client care.

The duties pertain to 4 days per week (32 hours), Monday - Thursday.

Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.


Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • The formal education equivalent of a high school diploma

  • At least one year of experience in administrative support or related office management

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in a medical office or setting

  • Experience managing patient/client care

  • Experience preparing invoices and with medical billing

  • Experience with word processing spreadsheets, creating/updating/maintaining databases


Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Knowledgeable of insurance and Medicaid billing guidelines

  • Good communication skills, both oral and written

  • Excellent organizational skills

  • Outstanding customer service skills

  • Excellent telephone skills

  • Ability to record fiscal data and generate reports

  • Ability to multitask and learn quickly on the job

  • Self-directed ability to work independently, problem-solve, analyze situations and come up with solutions

  • Ability to work closely with clinic director, program coordinator, clinical faculty/staff and students
