Summary of Job Duties:

The MUSiC Semiconductor Fabrication Technician will be primarily responsible for the operation, maintenance, monitoring, safety of gas distribution systems and abatement systems. As well as installation of the gas cylinders that supply the process gases to the MUSiC Facility cleanroom. The position will work with facility engineers to maintain critical facility safety equipment, gas delivery systems, vacuum systems, cooling systems, water filtration systems, and compressed air systems. This position will also work with equipment engineers to maintain semiconductor process equipment and support process units. The position is responsible for maintaining detailed records for facility, equipment engineering support, and process safety management documents.

This position must be ready to be called on site at various hours for emergency response aid, as well as for facility operations. This position will provide operational assistance for low volume R&D semiconductor device prototyping. This position is also responsible for facilities upkeep and reliability. This position will answer directly to the MUSiC Facility Manager.

Regular, reliable and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.


Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • The formal education equivalent of a high school diploma or higher

  • US citizenship

  • At least one year industry experience with hazardous gas distribution systems

  • Ability to lift 50 pounds

  • Experience working with process control systems (PLCs, HMIs, PoE networks). Ability to read electrical diagrams

  • At least two years of industry or academic experience in safety and facilities

  • Experience in semiconductor cleanroom protocols

  • Experience using Microsoft office

Preferred Qualifications:

  • At least five years of safety and facilities experience in an academic and/or semiconductor industrial environment

  • Direct experience with the relevant fire and safety codes within an academic and industrial environment (MAQs as an example)

  • Multi-disciplinary experience in both safety and facilities maintenance

  • Multiple certifications with various occupational safety entities, such as DOT, EPA, OSHA, NIOSH, NFPA, HAZWOPER, etc.

  • Experience in safety and/or facilities leadership

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong mechanical skills

  • Ability to be part of the emergency response team for the MUSiC facility

  • Ability to be safety and quality minded

  • Ability to learn the equipment and processes, and to demonstrate such learning in order to provide equipment maintenance support when necessary, as well as facility upkeep.
