Summary of Job Duties:

The Marketing Specialist supports the development and execution of strategic social media initiatives and overall marketing efforts that drive awareness and increase enrollments in online degree programs and registrations for Professional and Workforce Development programs. This role contributes to content planning, campaign development, and day-to-day social media operations, while ensuring consistent, brand-aligned messaging across platforms. The specialist develops and leverages social media performance data, trend analysis, and competitive higher education insights to continuously refine strategies and improve social media results. The specialist collaborates closely with internal teams to produce high-quality, audience-focused content and campaigns that support institutional goals and priorities for all marketing-related initiatives. The position supports overall marketing, enrollment and student success initiatives across multiple platforms beyond social media. This role requires a balance of creativity, analytical thinking, organization, and operational savvy to enhance brand visibility, strengthen stakeholder engagement, and support overall marketing effectiveness.


Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.


Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • The formal education equivalent of a high school diploma

  • At least one year of specialized training in social media coordination

  • At least three years of experience in marketing or administrative support

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Active progress towards the pursuit of a bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications or a related field

  • At least one year of experience in business social media ideation, production, and scheduling

  • At least one year of experience in marketing

  • Excellent writing, editing and communication skills as evidenced by application materials

  • Proven experience in social media management tools (e.g. Hootsuite, Canva, Adobe Express)

  • Experience promoting higher education programs or adult education

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Willingness to learn new skills

  • Marketing skills and abilities

  • Ability to track and report effectiveness

  • Ability to communicate and collaborate with a diverse group of internal and external stakeholders
