Summary of Job Duties:

The Digital Design and Development Manager serves as the technical webmaster for the Sam M. Walton College of Business. This role oversees the management of digital content, website maintenance, design, performance analytics, user experience, site navigation, quality assurance, and data capture. The manager will lead a small team, ensuring that our digital presence meets the highest standards of usability, accessibility, and functionality.

Key Responsibilities
• Website Management: Oversee the day-to-day operations of the college's website (Walton.uark.edu) and web pages, ensuring content is accurate, up-to-date, and aligned with strategic goals.
• Design & Development: Collaborate with stakeholders to design and develop website features that enhance user experience and engagement.
• Performance Metrics: Monitor and analyze website performance metrics to inform strategies for improvement, utilizing tools such as Google Analytics.
• User Experience: Optimize site navigation and user experience through ongoing testing and user feedback and ensures website is universally accessible, including compliance with American Disabilities Act standards and accessibility by mobile devices.
• Quality Assurance: Conduct regular quality assurance checks to ensure consistency, functionality, and accessibility across all digital platforms.
• Forms & Data Capture: Develop and maintain effective forms and data capture processes to facilitate user engagement and data collection.

Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.


Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Web Design, Computer Science, Digital Media, or a related field

  • At least four years of experience in web design and development

  • A minimum of one year of supervisory experience

  • Proficiency in HTML and familiarity with PHP, CSS and JavaScript

  • Fluency with data security

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with content management systems (CMS) such as Modern Campus, WordPress, Drupal, or similar platforms

  • Knowledge of user interface (UI) and user experience (UX) design principles

  • Familiarity with web analytics tools and SEO best practices

  • Background in project management methodologies

  • Fluency with the WCAG AA 2.1 accessibility criteria

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong understanding and knowledge of web design principles and responsive design techniques

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail

  • Ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders

  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

  • Creative mindset skills with a keen eye for aesthetics and usability
