Summary of Job Duties:

The University of Arkansas is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Descriptive Data Analyst with IT Business Systems Analyst responsibilities. The successful candidate will be responsible for analyzing data to support decision-making processes and maintaining the software systems used within the department. This role requires a combination of analytical skills, technical expertise, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Key Responsibilities:

· Collect, analyze, and interpret data related to Transit and Parking operations.

· Develop and maintain dashboards and reports to provide insights into key performance indicators.

· Perform analysis using various techniques to identify patterns in data.

· Make critical observations and provide data interpretation to assist in the development of reports and recommend strategies and plans.

· Collaborate with various departments to understand data needs and provide actionable recommendations.

· Implement systems requirements and perform routine data analysis to ensure data management objectives within the department are met.

· Perform regular maintenance and updates on IT software systems used by the Transit and Parking Department.

· Troubleshoot and resolve software issues to ensure smooth operation of Transit and Parking systems.

· Assist in the implementation of new software solutions and upgrades.

· Ensure data integrity and security by following best practices and university policies.

· Provide training and support to staff on the use of data analysis tools and software systems.

· Stay updated with industry trends and advancements in data analysis and IT software maintenance.

Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.


Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field

  • Strong proficiency in data analysis tools such as SQL, Excel, and data visualization software (e.g., Tableau, Power BI)

  • Basic understanding of IT software maintenance and troubleshooting

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in a related field

  • Familiarity with programming languages such as Python or R

  • Experience with Transit and Parking operations is a plus

  • Internship or project experience in data analysis or IT software maintenance is a plus

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team​

Salary Information:

A minimum of $56,123 - commensurate with education and experience
