Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Education, History, Sociology, Communications, Psychology, Public Administration, Cultural Studies, Social Work, or a related field from an accredited institution of higher education
At least one or more years of professional experience in higher education related to student engagement through cultural celebration or retention-focused programming
Proven collaboration (such as with campus departments, community stakeholders, or student groups) and creativity for the purposes of community building, learning, and engagement
An expressed desire to build and celebrate culture and community
Applicable equivalencies may be considered for the above qualifications.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Higher Education, Student Affairs, Cultural Studies, Public Administration) from an accredited institution of higher education
Experience supporting students from low-income, rural, and/or first-generation backgrounds, or those from geographically underrepresented communities
At least two years of demonstrated professional or equivalent leadership experience designing and facilitating educational, cultural, or student development experiences and opportunities
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):
Knowledge of student development theory, cultural learning models, and best practices in co-curricular education
Strong communication, project management, and program evaluation skills
Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
Demonstrated ability to design and deliver co-curricular learning opportunities and events
Demonstrated ability to develop inclusive programs and support services that build community and contribute to student success
Strong organizational and logistical planning abilities for events and workshops.
Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
