Summary of Job Duties:

The Clinical Education Coordinator and Clinical Instructor of Nursing is a 12-month faculty position responsible for the daily leadership and instructional needs of undergraduate clinical courses, students, and faculty. The Clinical Education Coordinator and Clinical Instructor of Nursing serves as the instructional leader for the program’s clinical learning, collaborates with prelicensure faculty to organize course schedules, assists with fiscal and curricular planning, and represents the Eleanor Mann School of Nursing in partnership with community and academic organizations.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Assist with recruitment, onboarding, and orientation of part-time and adjunct clinical faculty and preceptors.
• Coordinate payroll management for part-time clinical faculty.
• Analyze opportunities for prelicensure faculty development and mentorship.
• Support consistent implementation of clinical course objectives, policies, and evaluation processes across clinical sections.
• Assist in monitoring clinical learning experiences to ensure alignment with program outcomes, AACN Essentials, and state board requirements.
• Participate in clinical program evaluation activities, including data collection, student feedback, and quality improvement initiatives.
• Work closely with the Program Coordinator, clinical course coordinators, and program leadership to support overall program operations.
• Participate in clinical faculty meetings, orientation sessions, and program planning activities.
• Communicate regularly with clinical partners regarding placement needs, student capacity, and program changes. Coordinate skills laboratory scheduling and operations in collaboration with EMSON finance and administrative staff, and assist with ordering and inventory of clinical and skills laboratory supplies.
• Track, analyze, and report program and student outcome data, student and clinical site feedback, and quality improvement initiatives to key stakeholders in alignment with accreditation and state board of nursing requirements.
• Work with the Clinical Operations team to coordinate student placement processes, onboarding, and agency-specific requirements.
• Other duties as assigned in support of teaching, scholarship, and service missions of the Department of Nursing, College, and University.

Consistent on-campus presence is required, and active in-person engagement in departmental and college life is an essential function of this position.

Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.


Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Earned a master’s degree in nursing from an accredited institution of higher education, conferred by the start of employment

  • Must have an active and unencumbered Arkansas Registered Nurse (RN) license or eligibility for obtaining an Arkansas RN license. An Arkansas RN license is required prior to the employment start date

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively and collegially with students, staff, and faculty from diverse backgrounds, programs, and colleges

  • Experience with inter-professional collaborative education, scholarship, and/or practice

  • At least five years of professional nursing experience

  • At least two years of nursing education experience

Required Certification or License:

  • Eligible to hold an unencumbered RN license with the Arkansas State Board of Nursing and secured by the first date of employment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Doctorate of Nursing Practice (DNP) or PhD from an accredited institution of higher education conferred by the start of employment.

  • Demonstrated leadership role or experiences

  • Experience in clinical education coordination, clinical scheduling, or academic program support.

  • Knowledge of state board of nursing regulations and accreditation standards related to clinical education.
