Minimum Qualifications:
With submitted materials, the candidate must demonstrate
Terminal degree in Advertising, Public Relations, or a related field from an accredited institution of higher education conferred by the start of appointment
Demonstration of and commitment to maintaining a program of national refereed scholarship in advertising, public relations, or a related field, including national refereed journal publishing, conference presentations, and research activities
At least one year of professional, research, or relevant experience in digital and social media advertising and public relations including but not limited to persuasive content strategy, development, and implementation; digital and social analytics; and other relevant experience in advertising or public relations
A commitment to building an inclusive scholarly environment through teaching, mentoring, research, outreach, or service as evidenced in the CV or other required documents
Preferred Qualifications:
Demonstrated commitment and ability to mentor undergraduate, honors, and/or graduate students, including serving on or directing thesis committees and senior papers, etc.
Demonstrated ability to teach one or more required courses ADPR major courses (Advertising Principles, Public Relations Principles, Public Relations Writing, Creative Strategy and Execution, Media Planning and Strategy, and Account Planning) as well as digital and social media advertising and public relations courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels as evidenced in the teaching philosophy and other required documents
Two or more years of professional, research or relevant experience in digital and social media advertising and public relations including but not limited to persuasive content strategy, development and implementation; digital and social analytics; and other relevant experience in advertising or public relations
The ability to be an active, involved, and collegial member of a collaborative faculty team, The School of Journalism and Strategic Media, the Fulbright College of Arts and Sciences, the University of Arkansas, and relevant national service organizations
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Current knowledge in the field of social/digital media, including but not limited to persuasive content strategy, social/digital media campaign management, influencer and affiliate marketing, online reputation management, digital advertising, E-Commerce, Artificial Intelligence, writing for various social media platforms or other areas based on area of expertise
A knowledge focused on digital communication in your area of expertise
Skilled with the use of social/digital media management tools.
Ability to develop and teach skills courses focused on social/digital media and incorporate digital media in scholarly research in this field
