Summary of Job Duties:

The Admissions Evaluator II is responsible for processing graduate and international undergraduate applications and supporting documents including applications for special international programs and projects. This position assists in determining admission eligibility for applicants through detailed evaluation and analysis of credentials and adheres to agreed-upon processing protocols for each of the programs. This position enters data from various sources, updates, and maintains applicant data into the admissions management system, the student information system, and document imaging system, using established workflow protocols to ensure that data from all systems are consistent. The Admissions Evaluator II initiates correspondence, counsels, and assists prospective and enrolled students, faculty, and staff in advising credentials needed to complete the application and admission process and in verifying student status; assists with data management and document scanning. This position assists with any other duties as assigned by the Associate Director of Admissions Operations.

Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.


Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • The formal education equivalent of a Bachelor's degree in public administration, general business, or a related field

  • Individuals hired into this position must be able to show United States citizenship or United States permanent resident status, per federal regulation

Preferred Qualifications:

  • At least three years of full-time professional experience which provides skills applicable to student advising, understanding and applying federal regulations, and/or inspecting and maintaining student documents

  • Cultural sensitivity

  • Fluency in any foreign language

  • Familiarity with SIS platforms such as Slate and Workday

  • Previous work and/or interaction with persons outside the U.S.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Skilled in organizing tasks and balancing competing objectives

  • Excellent people and communication skills to provide professional, timely, and effective support to students, faculty, and staff

  • Demonstrated ability of excellent written and verbal communication

  • Attention to detail is a must for this position, as is the ability to handle large volumes of work in a timely manner during peak processing times

  • Ability to work with multiple office management tools and programs, including Microsoft Office

  • Ability to understand and operate various computer programs and systems
