Summary of Job Duties:

The College of Engineering (COE) Graduate Recruitment and Admissions Coordinator (GRAC) is an integral member of the Graduate Recruitment and Student Support staff and reports directly to the Assistant Director of Graduate Recruitment and Student Support.

This position will serve as the main point of contact for prospective graduate students, COE faculty and staff and GSIE admissions coordinators for all matters related to graduate admissions. The position is responsible for supporting the timely flow of the COE prospective graduate students’ applications in Slate leading to timely admission decisions for the applicants and the COE departments.

This position will communicate with GSIE to make sure that COE applications are processed in a timely manner and according to the COE departments’ admission requirements and needs.
The GRAC position will be also serving as the main regional graduate recruitment coordinator and will represent and promote COE at regional graduate recruitment events. The position will seek and identify opportunities in our region where active recruitment of future graduate students can take place.

In addition, the position will lead the COE Rising Doctoral Institute (RDI) program, a bridge program for entering doctoral students, and will be responsible for all planning, organization, management involved with the program and will ensure successful carry out of the program.

Assistance to the COE graduate recruiting staff with other various recruiting tasks tied to Graduate admission success and semesterly participation in on campus recruiting events is expected.

Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others. Great problem solving, organizational and communication skills are also of critical importance. Recruiting experience, event planning and management experience are also essential.


Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution of higher education

  • At least one year experience in admissions in a higher education setting

  • At least one year of recruiting experience (college setting preferred)

  • At least one year experience in event planning and management

Applicable equivalencies may be considered on the above qualifications.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience creating and working with automated communication systems

  • Customer relationship management system experience; Slate, Salesforce, Workday, etc.

  • Excellent people and communication skills to provide professional, timely and effective support to students (domestic and international), faculty and staff

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to cooperate with all COE Departments and GSIE

  • Ability to accurately prepare and maintain reports

  • Ability to handle stressful situations in a professional manner

  • Ability to complete tasks within timelines given

  • Knowledge of and ability to learn university and COE admissions policies and procedures

  • Experience working with multiple systems and Microsoft Office

  • Accountable and organized

  • Ability to use discretion and maintain confidentiality

  • Ability to learn quickly and to sort and organize information and data in timely fashion

  • Ability to effectively advise domestic and international prospective graduate students throughout the admissions process

  • Ability to present and engage with prospective graduate student

  • Ability to travel to regional higher education institutions (regional travel only)

  • Ability to organize, manage and direct events and personnel involved

  • Ability to be creative and be a problem-solver

  • Be self-motivated and driven


Additional Information:

This position is renewable annually based on continued need for the position, availability of funding, and satisfactory job performance.


Salary Information:

$43,923, commensurate with education and experience
