Summary of Job Duties:

The Administrative Program Coordinator will serve as the first point of contact for visitors, students, faculty, & staff, and provide administrative support for the department. This includes answering the department’s phone and email account, purchasing office supplies, textbooks, regalia, etc., assisting faculty and staff with special projects, reconciling procurement and travel cards, conducting expense reports & reimbursements, submitting scholarships, maintaining physical spaces by making recommendations for improvement and coordinating any needed repairs to provide resolution in a timely manner, and other similar duties as assigned.

The Administrative Program Coordinator provides administrative support for the Department of Industrial Engineering primarily in the Undergraduate Studies program. Assisting the department’s academic advisors, this employee develops procedures to support degree audits, student advising, and management of student records. In addition, the Program Coordinator performs program research and data collection to compile reports for departmental, campus and external agencies including accreditation reviews. This position collects data and monitors the progress of meeting Student Learning Measures (SLM) for accreditation. Other duties may be assigned as needed by the academic advisors and faculty of the department.

The Department of Industrial Engineering hosts many events, banquets, receptions, and luncheons throughout the year. This employee will help coordinate and execute events alongside other staff members.

Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others. This position will work 8am to 5pm, Monday through Friday.


Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree with a major in business, sociology, public administration, or related field from an accredited institution of higher education

  • At least one year of experience in program administration or related area

Applicable equivalencies may be considered on the above qualifications.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • At least two years working in an administrative role in higher education

  • Previous experience using University of Arkansas software such as Workday, Slate, R25, etc.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, such as Excel, Word, etc.

  • At least two years of event or conference coordination experience OR academic advising experience


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Knowledge of program degree requirements and equivalencies

  • Knowledge of campus and community resources

  • Knowledge of state, federal, and campus rules, regulations, and requirements related to campus academic and social programs

  • Ability to handle records, materials, and issues in a discreet and confidential manner

  • Ability to provide a consistently high level of courteous, professional, and cheerful customer service to internal and external constituents

  • Ability to evaluate collected information and formulate into recommendations

  • Ability to compile information into report form

  • Ability to execute projects in a timely manner within budget and following policies for compliance


Additional Information:


Salary Information:

$40,000-$43,000, commensurate with education and experience.
